Abyssine is a series of anti-wrinkle formulas brought to you by Kiehls. The formulas for each product are based on the ingredient Abyssine. Each contains the same basic formula but other ingredients are added to target certain areas of the skin. This formula comes in a facial serum, a facial cream, lotion, and an eye cream. They are all dermatologist tested and seem to be fairly reputable products. Let’s see what makes them up and how effective they are.

Abyssine ingredients include Abyssine, Apricot Kernel Oil, Corallina Extract, and other protectors from the sun.

Abyssine and Corallina Extract seem to be the two ingredients contained in all the formulas. Abyssine is actually a molecule that is found in the ocean where magma and seawater meet. It is supposed to help soothe and protect the skin. Coralline Extract is a mineral-rich form of algae that is sort of a gel-like substance. It is supposed to form a thin layer over the skin to help seal in moisture while nourishing it.

All of these products are tested by dermatologists but none of them are proven to actually reduce wrinkles. We don’t doubt that the Abyssine line is full of great moisturizers. If dry skin is your problem then these products may be able to help you. However, if you’re looking for proven ingredients to help you to rid your skin of the signs of aging then this is not the product for you. We suggest looking for products that contains peptides and other ingredients that actually powerful enough to seep into the skin to reduce wrinkles.
