Avage - March 3rd, 2010

Avage

This product can only be bought if you have a prescription. This product was created by Allergan, which ironically enough was the creators of Botox. They claim that this product can reduce your wrinkles, get rid of dark spots and even your pigmentations. However, we think that this product may have some serious side effects. The price of this product varies from doctor to doctor.
The main ingredient in Avage is tarzarotene which is used to treat acne, not wrinkles. It has been used in other skin care products like Tazorac. This product also uses benzyl alcohol, carbomer 934P, carbomer 1342, edentate disodium, medium chain triglycerides, mineral oil, purified water, sodium thiosulfate, sorbitan monooleate, and sodium hydroxide.
A lot of these ingredients, however, can really irritate the skin and cause redness. This makes us wonder if it is even worth it. Also, we weren’t able to find any ingredients that will actually help with reducing wrinkles. Everything seems to help with acne, however.
Overall, we don’t recommend Avage. Not only do they not have any wrinkle fighting ingredients, but they only have one active ingredient. This product will only cause your skin to turn red. There are plenty of other treatments out there that will work to reduce your wrinkles. We recommend that you do a bit more research. Compare ingredients, and compare prices to find a product that you know will work for you. Don’t waste your time with Avage. Just because the creators of Botox made it, doesn’t mean that it’ll work.
