Juvederm Reviews

Juvederm

Juvederm is not a tradition topical anti-wrinkle cream. Juvederm is an injection in the same vein as the extremely well known and popular Botox. Juvederm has been approved by the FDA as an anti-aging measure but can only be used at the discretion of a licensed health care professional. Juvederm claims to have an edge over Botox by being a “plumping” solution opposed to a muscle “freezing” fix. Calling Juvederm the “next generation” in dermal fillers the manufacturers would have you believe that it is a superior and more natural looking alternative to Botox. This product is actually created by Allergen, the same company that created and currently sells Botox. Juvederm treatments range from $350-400 per appointment.

On The Label

Juvederm’s main component is the ingredient hyaluronic acid which is utilized in most topical creams as an extra strength moisturizer. This is a naturally occurring element in human skin and has other benefits such as the ability to help cushion joints. The idea is that this product acts as a cushion for the skin much along the lines of a softer version of a trampoline. When you bounce a trampoline there is no mark left on the surface. Juvederm asserts that this ingredient will help negate the permanence of marks that can be left on your skin from smiling, frowning, or other such daily expressions.

Our Take

Juvederm claims that this ingredient is on par with collagen but has not clinical trials or documented studies to support this assertion. Further claims state that Juvederm’s positive effects can last for up to a year but, again, there is no verifiable data to substantiate these postulations. The upside of injections, if they work, is that they are quick, usually showing results within one fifteen minute session. Juvederm also has less risks and potential side effects than Botox. However, it doesn’t have the same established success as Botox and is actually more expensive. Until Juvederm is proven more conclusively we would not recommend this line of treatment.

Juvederm Customer Reviews

Genna Says:

Excellent product and worth the price if you can afford it. I had injections for my marionette lines over 2 years ago and they have just recently begun to slightly return. If you want immediate, lasting results, cut back on the expense of wrinkle creams and serums and save up for truly noticeable results. You really will walk out looking 10 years younger.
