LifeCell by South Beach Skin Care is a “revolutionary anti aging and anti wrinkle cream treatment” that boasts a number of celebrity endorsements on its certain websites. LifeCell claims that this topical treatment will give you the same results as Botox with less invasive measures and less expense. Life Cell claims to eliminate puffiness and the dark circles that can plague the skin around your eyes as well as reducing the appearance of fine lines, including crow’s feet, and can promote improved skin elasticity while working to prevent further lines from forming in the future. All of this can be yours at the reasonable price of $189. Reasonable if it delivers that is.
A Little History:
This product has been endorsed by a former Botox administrator, a Dr. Raj Bhayani. He now supports LifeCell over Botox injections and claims that all of his patients have been more than satisfied with the switch and the ensuing results. A licensed physician’s endorsement is always a bonus, if it is legitimate but it in no way eliminates the need for a comprehensive ingredient list. This is the only real way to determine product efficacy.
On The Label
The ingredients that are mention are idebenone and nitric oxide. Idebenone is a potent antioxidant which can have skin clarifying benefits and has been seen in other skin care products. Nitric oxide has the ability to boost blood circulation which may bring more nutrients to the skin as well. These are good things but they are not in and of themselves miraculous or proven anti-aging measures. They certainly don’t justify a $189 price tag.
Our Take
LifeCell is heavy on hype and low on substantiated studies and findings. Without a complete list of ingredients, or any idea of in what amounts these ingredients are used, we have no choice but to assume that LifeCell has something to hide. Whether it is a harmless incident of lackluster ingredients and or portions or a more concerning issue of unsafe and unproven elements in the formula we feel safe in our decision to warn against the use of LifeCell at this time.
