What is Prevage Body Total Transforming Anti Aging Moisturizer?

This moisturizer claims to be able to give the skin amazing moisture and reduce all signs of aging, including wrinkles, age lines, sagging skin, and age spots. It claims to use Tripeptide-1, which has the potential to be effective in the treatment of wrinkles. We are interested in seeing what other ingredients are in this product, as well as if there are enough peptides to be effective. Usually, peptides do no stimulate collagen growth unless there are at least 3 contained in a product. When used in high doses, they are among the most effective anti-aging treatment, but in small doses, they are relatively ineffective.

Product Details:

This product only contains one peptide, the Tripeptide-1, and will not make the much of a difference in existing wrinkles and fine lines. It also contains guanidine HCl, which makes peptides more soluble. This makes it more able to permeate the epidermal layer of the skin. Even with this added ingredient, we still don’t think that this ingredient will be effective. We have every reason to think that it will be hydrating and moisturizing, but we don’t believe that it will be effective as an anti-aging treatment.

This also contains 5 parabens, which are potentially harmful ingredients. They are mostly found in cheap cosmetics and are used as preservatives and “fillers.” When a company doesn’t want to use expensive, effective ingredients, they use what we call fillers to fill up the container with cheap and useless ingredients. At best, parabens are fillers. At worst, they are irritating to the skin and have been linked to fatal conditions.

Conclusion

We would not recommend this product to those who are interested in reducing wrinkles. Though it may be a good moisturizer, it could cause irritation.
