Refissa - December 22nd, 2009

Refissa

Refissa claims to reduce your wrinkles by attacking the reasons why you might have them. They also claim to attack irregular pigmentation with an ingredient that ironically has been known to cause hyperpigmentation or bleaching in other words. This being said, Refissa sells through prescriptions and FDA approval. But we have often found that FDA approval only means there are side effects, and surprisingly studies are often extremely limited to say the least.

The only ingredient listed in Refissa is 0.5% tretinoin.

We would not recommend using Refissa. Tretinoin is often used as an effective prescription treatment for acne. But the studies surrounding tretinoin and wrinkles or fine lines specifically are questionable. This being said, it is more likely to cause more wrinkles by the damage it does along with other side effects such as irritation, redness, peeling, etc. It does not produce more collagen and elastin as they claim, peptides do that. You could definitely find something better.
